The Netflix Book Tag

Hello! I was tagged by Sioban’s Novelties to do the Netflix book tag! I don’t watch a lot of movies, but this is all about books, and the questions are really interesting. As far as I can tell, it was created by A Darker Shade of Whitney over on YouTube. So here are my answers:

Recently Watched | The Last Book You Finished

A Court of Wings and Ruin cover

I just finished A Court of Wings and Ruin last night! I would have liked to have taken a couple more days (I got it on Audiobook and it was due back at the library). I was tired as anything but had to finish it, so I put it on 2x speed. I really need to only request one audiobook from the library at a time, because I had two that came in at the same time and it was just too much. But I did finish this book, and it was pretty good.

Top Picks | A Book That Has Been Recommended to You Based on What You’ve Previously Read

Naughts and Crosses

Naughts and Crosses was a Goodreads recommendation based on the fact that I liked The Midnight Star. It’s on my summer TBR, so we’ll see if Goodreads was accurate in this one.

Recently Added | The Last Book You Purchased

I had to check my Amazon.com account for this one. I thought it might be Veronica Roth’s The Chosen Ones (which doesn’t come out until next May but I just pre-ordered) but it just happens to be Kim Chance’s Keeper, which went on sale for $.99. It was still on sale yesterday; it might still be on sale today, but I don’t know.

Popular on Netflix | Books That Everyone Knows (Two You’ve Read, and Two You Have No Interest in Reading)

The Wicked King cover
The Gilded Wolves cover

These are currently two books that are at the top of Goodreads’ YA Novels of 2019 list, and I’ve read them both.

Children of Virtue and Vengeance cover
Wonder Woman cover

Again, I checked the Goodreads’ lists for books that have been popular in the last couple of years. Children of Blood and Bone was just okay for me (although it was well written), and I’m not really a big fan of superheroes, even though I love Leigh Bardugo’s books.

Comedies | A Funny Book

There's Something About Sweetie

This category was difficult for me, because although I read a lot of books that have some funny moments in them, I don’t really read books that are supposed to be funny. But Sandhya Menon’s books do tend to have some comedy in them, so I’ll go with There’s Something About Sweetie for this category.

Dramas | A Character Who Is a Drama Queen/King

The Thousandth Floor cover

I guess you could say that there’s a lot of drama going on around The Thousandth Floor. Although I’m not sure you could pick one character for that nomination. Avery: “Oh, I’m in love with my stepbrother and my best friend seems to have a thing for him!” Leda: “I need to spy on Atlas because I need to find out if he’s seeing someone else!” Drama is this book’s middle name.

Animated | A Book with Cartoons on the Cover

Does a book count as a book if it’s only available on Audiobook? I don’t know, but I’m going to put it here anyway. Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World was the last book I read (listened to) with an obviously cartoonish cover. My boy and I listened to it when we had car rides together.

Watch It Again | A Book or Series You Want to Reread

Sky Without Stars cover

I adored Sky Without Stars and I hope to read it again, probably before the next book in the series comes out.

Documentaries | A Nonfiction Book You’d Recommend to Everyone

Addicted to Outrage cover

This one is another tricky category. We all have different interests, so how could I recommend one book? I absolutely adored The Fourth Turning, but does that mean that everybody will? Probably not. I went with Glenn Beck’s Addicted to Outrage because it’s one of those books that people should read. There’s such animosity towards each other these days, and I think if we could find things to agree with each other on rather than try to provoke “the other side” then maybe we could get stuff done? A lot of people have problems with Glenn Beck as a person but just because someone doesn’t like the messenger doesn’t mean the message isn’t good.

Action and Adventure | An Action-Packed Book or Series

City of Bones cover

The Mortal Instruments series has a lot of action within.

New Releases | A Book That Just Came Out or Will Be Coming Out Soon That You Can’t Wait to Read

Ninth House cover

October 1st is a huge release date for me. I’m getting three pre-orders on that day, including Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. There’s also Rebel (which I normally feature but I wanted some variety today) and The End and Other Beginnings by Veronica Roth. Oh, and I also have three ARCs to read that are releasing on the same date (at least I get to read those earlier, but it’s making my reviews difficult to schedule).

Tag, You’re It!

If you liked this tag and would like to do it yourself, consider yourself tagged! If you decide to do it, would you send a link to me so I can see what you have to say?

ABC Book Challenge – E

Hello, and welcome to the fifth week of the ABC Book Challenge, where I point out books I liked and books I’m looking forward to that begin with a certain letter of the alphabet. I found this over at Me, Myself, and Books, but I think it was started by Thrifty Bibliophile. There are actually more E books than I thought there would be.

Echoes cover

It’s been a while since I talked about Echoes by Alice Reeds, but I really loved it and couldn’t put it down. She has said that there should be another book in this series, called Fissures, which I think is supposed to come out in 2020? I don’t know for sure because there’s no information on Goodreads. I do know that I definitely would want to read it.

Edge of Apocalypse cover

I really liked The End series (which started with Edge of Apocalypse) by Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall. I don’t know if I ever read the last book though. The Left Behind series might have been Tim LaHaye’s most famous book series, but I think these were written better.

Eliza and her Monsters cover

I haven’t read Eliza and Her Monsters yet, but every time I hear about it I want to. Eliza reminds me a little bit of Cath from Fangirl, and I loved that book. Being a writer myself (and one that has a hard time talking to people in person) I think I can relate to a creative type who has an easier time with her online creations than in the real world.

An Ember in the Ashes Cover

I haven’t read An Ember in the Ashes since A Reaper at the Gates came out last summer. I read all three of the already-released books in one week. And now… I have to wait even longer for book four. This is a series that I’ll definitely want to reread before the next book comes out.

Enchantée cover

I absolutely LOVED Enchantée by Gita Trelease! It was my favorite book that I read last year (I was lucky enough to get an ARC). For me, the writing had a sort of magic to it. I almost called in late to work so I could finish it.

The End and Other Beginnings cover

So this is the third week that I’ve featured one of Veronica Roth’s books, but I’m excited about October 1st coming up. That’s less than two months away now!!! I have three books pre-ordered for that date: The End and Other Beginnings, Rebel, and Ninth House. Then there’s two other books that come out that day that I intend to read, Shadow Frost, and Fountains of Silence, but I’ll be reading those as ARCs.

There are a couple other E books that I’m leaving out today, but for a book that I don’t use at the beginning of words a lot, E is sure a popular letter for book titles! At least the ones I’m interested in. Looking ahead, there are actually quite a few F books too, but I’ll save them for next week.

Why I’m Weird Book Tag

Today I’m doing the Why I’m Weird book tag. I spotted it over at Feed Your Fiction Addiction, but it was started by Dellybird. All you have to do for this tag is name ten weird things about yourself.

“Why I am Weird” Tag rules

  • List ten weird things about yourself, your life or silly habits that you wouldn’t normally share.
  • Tag up to ten people so you can get to know them better.
  • Link back to the person who tagged you & the creator
  • Comment on the posts of people you tagged!

1. I almost never watch television or movies. I probably haven’t watched anything that my husband or kids haven’t dragged me to since the Olympics in Pyeongchang two years ago. I really love the Olympics though. We don’t have cable anymore because we never watch TV, but I do subscribe to live TV for one month every other year to watch the Olympics.

2. I met my husband over the internet. That might not be weird now, but it was pretty much unheard of back in the day. We met before Google was founded. I’m really thankful for the internet, because guys were never really interested in me. I’ve only gone out with one guy that I didn’t meet on the internet.

3. My boy and I have our own language, called the ooo language. There are a few rules and exceptions to it, but I call him “Tanoo” and I’m “Mamoo”. And then you can say “I love ooo”.

4. I love languages in general, and have a lot of flags behind my name in Duolingo. I’m only literate in a few, but I don’t even know how many languages I can say a few things in. I sometimes sprinkle in words from other languages in conversations with my kids. Everyone in my family speaks multiple languages. My boy speaks some Japanese and can count to 59 in Korean.

5. I don’t drink coffee. I tried it once and thought it was disgusting, and didn’t see the point afterwards. I do drink unsweetened tea though.

6. I don’t like most condiments, like ketchup or mustard, either. The same holds true for relish, pickles, and tomatoes (although I’m cool with tomato sauce). Unless it’s a barbecue burger or something like that, I usually get my burgers plain.

7. I’m triggered by doorbells and babies. The doorbell thing stems from a year ago, when we had a police visit due to a family issue. Now unless I’m expecting it, a part of me is afraid they might be stopping by. The baby thing is due to secondary infertility. If I ignore babies, I’m usually okay though.

8. I hate shopping. Unless it’s books. When I do have to buy something, I usually know exactly what I’m looking for and will come home empty-handed if I don’t find it. Even with books, I know exactly what I want.

9. I get anxious talking on the phone. Especially with strangers or people I don’t know very well. The other day I drove a half hour to ask a question in person rather than making a phone call.

10. I get cold really easily. When we were in Arizona last month, I realized that if I had magical powers I’d be a fire mage, because “the heat never bothered me anyway.” Either that, or a water mage, because I love swimming. Maybe a fire/water mage.

So there’s some weird things about me. What about you? What makes you weird? If you’d like to do this tag, I pick you! I guess my reluctance to tag is another thing that makes me weird. I’m always fearful of leaving someone out or annoying someone else. So, if you do this tag, let me know so I can see it!

ABC Book Challenge – D

Another week, another edition of the ABC book challenge! This week is all about books that begin with the letter D! I found this challenge over at Me, Myself, and Books, but I think it was started by Thrifty Bibliophile. On to the D books!

Descendant of the Crane cover

Descendant of the Crane has such a lovely cover! It’s a Chinese-inspired fantasy that sounds like it will be great to read. I found it on sale at Amazon.com last month, but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet.

Diary of a Young Girl cover

I read Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl a long time ago, back when I was in Middle School, but it’s a significant book and deserves its place among books that begin with the letter D.

The Discoverers Cover

It’s been several years since I read The Discoverers by Daniel J. Boorstin. I loved this book, which talks about how humanity created things as simple as the calendar and then proceeded to invent things and explore the world, and I’ve read it twice so far. Maybe it’s due for a reread someday.

Divergent cover

We can’t talk about books that begin with the letter D without talking about one of my favorite books ever: Divergent. This book is a life-changer for me. It’s the book that got me into YA and got me writing again, which all led to this blog. No wonder I own it in four languages!

Dragons of Autumn Twilight cover

Another significant set of books in my life were the Dragonlance books. My future husband gave these to me a couple of months after we met. We named our two kids after characters in this series (my daughter named her cat after another character). I regularly think about philosophies and concepts in these books, such as evil turns in upon itself and when people believe they are too good, they turn into people like the Kingpriest of Istar and start persecuting people who don’t live up to their standards.

So those are some books that start with the letter D!

I Should Have Read That Book Tag

Hello! I found yet another great book tag I wanted to do. This time it’s the “I Should Have Read That” book tag. Now, I’m not dead, so I can still read these books, so maybe someday I will. Right now, I haven’t. I found this tag over at Madison’s Inkwell, but it was started by Booksnest.co.uk.

Here are the rules of the tag:

  • Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their post
  • Link back to the creator’s blog (booksnest.co.uk
  • Answer the questions below
  • Tag 10 others to take part
  • ENJOY THE TAG!

Let’s get started!

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

Vampire Academy cover

My friend Lydia at my old job was always raving about Vampire Academy. I really do need to read it someday… I just haven’t yet.

A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

1453 cover

I haven’t read 1453: The Holy War for Constantinople and the Clash of Islam and the West yet. I’ve had it on my TBR since April 25, 2013. It still sounds good, I just haven’t gotten around to reading it yet.

A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

Hundreds cover

I do plan on finishing the Pennies series by Pepper Winters, but I haven’t yet. I got this one from the library, and I’ll have to buy the next one, and I just haven’t. But I will… someday.

A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

Les Miserables cover

I have every intention of reading Les Misérables at some point… after all, both Legend and Sky Without Stars were inspired by this book, and I loved them both, but again… I still haven’t read this one.

A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Lots of people have read this one, and maybe people think I’m a heretic for not reading it, but I don’t really plan on reading Harry Potter any time soon. It’s not like there aren’t thousands of other books I can be reading.

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

Uh… I don’t watch a lot of television or movies, so I’m not sure I can answer this one.

A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

King of Scars cover

I don’t go to Instagram a lot (usually only when I see on Twitter that someone has posted something over there) but I have seen King of Scars a lot on Twitter over the past year, and I haven’t read this one yet either. I do plan on reading this one at some point… I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Tags

I’m going to be a rebel and skip the tagging part, but if you’d like to do this one, please do! I’d love to see what you come up with. Please send me a link if you decide to do this one.

ABC Book Challenge – B

This is the second week of the ABC Book Challenge, which will run until the end of the year. For this tag, which I originally found at Me, Myself, and Books, and was able to trace (tentatively) back to Thrifty Bibliophile, I’ll go through my TBR and find books that begin with that particular letter. I might do a mix of books on my TBR and books that I’ve read (depending on the letter).

I absolutely adored Sky Without Stars, the first book in the System Divine series by Jessica Brody. Between Burning Worlds, the second book, is expected to come out in 2020. And I’m expected to read it.

Black Death at the Golden Gate: The Race to Save America from the Bubonic Plague has a really long title, but it sounds really interesting. I love history, and this is one element of history I don’t know much about.

The Boy and his Ribbon cover

I saw a review for The Boy and His Ribbon a while ago and it sounded interesting, but I’ve still never gotten around to reading it. I’m guessing it’s probably not as dark as Pennies which is by the same author? Anyway, it’s another B book that I hope to read at some point.

Last year, I read The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang, and of course I’d like to read the next book in the series at some point.

Bonhoeffer cover

Occasionally, I mention Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy on this blog, because it’s such an interesting account of this important figure from World War II. This is the only book on this list that I’ve already read. I’ll probably end up rereading this book again at some point.

ABC Book Challenge – A

Today, going on every Sunday until the end of the year, I’ll be publishing the ABC book challenge. This tag, which I originally found at Me, Myself, and Books, and was able to trace (tentatively) back to Thrifty Bibliophile, has you going through your TBRs and finding books that begin with that particular letter. I might do a mix of books on my TBR and books that I’ve read (depending on the letter).

Alex, Approximately cover

There are a ton of books that start with A on both my TBR and read shelf over at Goodreads. So many, that it’s going to be difficult to narrow these books down to a reasonable number. One of the A books that I really liked was Alex, Approximately. It’s a cute teen summer romance featuring the enemies-to-lovers trope. I devoured it in two days.

Agenda 21 cover

One of the fun things about this tag I think will be talking about books I haven’t had the chance to really mention before. Agenda 21 is a thriller that came out in 2012. In this world set in the future, life is highly planned out for you. Children grow up in group homes, not with their families, and your mate is chosen for you. It’s a fairly bleak existence, until our protagonist decides that she wants to escape.

Anne of Green Gables cover

Almost all of the Anne of Green Gables books start with an A (Rilla of Ingleside I think is the only exception). These are really sweet books that I loved as a kid, and really should read again someday. It’s the story of Anne, an orphan who gets into a lot of trouble at first, but eventually grows up, gets married, and has a family.

African Samurai cover

African Samurai: The True Story of Yasuke, a Legendary Black Warrior in Feudal Japan sounds like a really interesting book. I haven’t heard a lot about this book, and I haven’t read it, but it’s on my TBR and I’m pretty sure that it will stay there until I get the chance to read it.

American Panda cover

American Panda looks like an adorable book. I haven’t read it yet, but would like to at some point in the future.

So there are some letter A books for the ABC Book Challenge. B is another letter that I have plenty of books on Goodreads for, so I’ll probably have quite a few books next week. When I get to X… not so much, I think.

The Summer Bucket List Book Tag

It’s July now, and if you’re in the United States, I hope you had a great holiday. If not, I hope you’re having a wonderful beginning to your summer (or winter if you live in the Southern Hemisphere). I saw the Summer Bucket List book tag and thought it would be fun to do!

I first saw this tag at Kristin Kraves Books, but it was started by Read By Tiffany.

The Rules:

  • Link back to the original creator in your post.
  • Feel free to use any of my graphics in your post, or create your own!
  • Tag 5 other people at the end of your post, and let them know you’ve tagged them.
Alex, Approximately cover

The beach is a huge part of Alex, Approximately. One of the main characters is even a talented surfer! I definitely get major beach vibes while reading this book.

Flame in the Mist Cover

Is it weird that I put this book down in this category even though Mariko was running around as a boy for half the story? I don’t know, but I loved these two together anyway. I remember as I was reading this book having to go to work and being so upset that I couldn’t sit down and continue reading.

When Elephants Fly cover

When Elephants Fly involves a road trip with an elephant in the back of a truck, at least for part of the story.

The Rose Society cover

I’m going with literal stars for this prompt. I absolutely adore the scene with Magiano and Adelina under the stars in this book.

Enchantée cover

I knew that Enchantée was going to be an amazing book from the first page. When I was getting towards the end, I had to leave for work, and I seriously considered calling in late. I finished after lunch instead, and had such a smile on my face when I was done that one person asked if I was going home (when I was actually going back to work).

Into the Hollow cover

I thought the relationship between Cole and Free was sweet.

Fangirl cover

I’ll have to go with Fangirl on this one. It’s an adorable book and was a nice change of pace from the fantasy books I often read.

Here and Now and Then cover

Kin in Here and Now and Then certainly had to overcome some obstacles. He’s a time traveler who first gets stuck in the past. Then, after he has a life and family in the past, he is yanked back into the future. He has to help the family he left behind.

The Priory of the Orange Tree cover

I don’t remember whether it was delicious food or not, but The Priory of the Orange Tree talked about food quite a lot. That’s one of the things I need to pay more attention to in my own book, so that’s why it stuck out to me in this one.

Never Stop Walking Cover

Christina Rickardsson went through quite a lot, and her story is quite amazing. She’s quite inspiring.

So… that’s the end of this book tag. I’m not really big on tagging people (I don’t know who’d want to do this and I don’t wan to leave people out) so I’m going to skip that part, but if you’d like to do this one, then consider yourself tagged. If you do decided to do this tag, send me a link so I can visit!

The Birthday Book Tag

Happy birthday to me! Today’s my birthday, so I’m going to do the birthday book tag. I found it over at Bookish Treats, but it was started by Antonia at Always Books.

1.  BIRTHDAY CAKE – a book with a plot that seems cliche but you adore it anyway

The Wrath and the Dawn cover

I’m not sure that this one qualifies? But I had a hard time with this prompt. What is a cliche plot? I looked through the books I read recently and wasn’t sure what books might work.

But I figured that the bones of this story have been around for over a thousand years, so we pretty much know what’s going to happen. Yet we want to read the story anyway. And I ended up loving it. I still haven’t gotten around to reading the sequel, but I probably will at some point.

2. PARTY GUESTS – your most anticipated book release this year

Rebel cover

Day, June, and Eden are definitely invited to my birthday party this year. Is that really a surprise? I wish Rebel would come out earlier, but alas, I’ll have to wait until October 1st.

I did get to read the sampler though, and I loved it (of course). So Eden is a bit of a rebel in this book, but after reading the sampler, there’s a good reason for that. I wonder how this will mesh with Life After Legend II, which came out as a pre-order gift with Wildcard? The timelines seem to overlap.

3. BIRTHDAY PRESENTS – a book that surprised you with how much you loved it

Into the Hollow cover

Into the Hollow by Lynn Vroman was one of those “Read Now” books on Netgalley. Like Forrest Gump says, they tend to be like a box of chocolates “you never know what you’re gonna get.” I was pleasantly surprised by this one and I couldn’t put it down.

I tend to talk about this underrated book a lot, but it never got a lot of hype when it came out, so someone has to talk about it, right?

4. THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG – a book that certainly deserved all the hype it got

A Reaper at the Gates Cover

Last June, hype for A Reaper at the Gates was all over the place on Twitter. I hadn’t read the first two books yet, but I was curious. So I decided to give An Ember in the Ashes a try. Lucky for me, there was a copy available at my library.

I ended up reading these fairly long books quickly. I think they took me a day per book. I couldn’t put them down. So for me, this book truly did live up to all the hype that it was given.

5. HAPPY MUSIC – a book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quotes

Finale cover

I just recently started a book journal, where I copy down some of my favorite quotes. Sometimes I’m just too into the book to stop and write down quotes, but I try. One book that I wrote down a lot of quotes from was Finale.

This was such a beautiful book, and it has some gorgeous quotes in it. It definitely deserves a spot in the happy music slot.

6. GETTING OLDER – a book that you read a long time ago, but you think that you would appreciate it more if you read it as a more mature reader

Jane Eyre cover

I remember reading Jayne Eyre so long ago that I barely remember what happened. If I read it now, I’d probably get more out of it than I did when I was in high school or middle school.

Although… I’m not really sure I want to read it any time soon? I know a lot of people like it, but there are just way too many books on my TBR, including some older books like Les Miserables, so I’m not sure if I will read it again. But who knows?

7. SWEET BIRTHDAY MEMORIES – a book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life

Rilla of Ingleside cover

This is another prompt that I’m not sure how to answer. But I read Rilla of Ingleside when I was in middle school or high school (I don’t remember which) and I remember it was a book with all the feels. I couldn’t help but crying towards the end.

Okay, maybe that’s not a good example? But perhaps if you’re crying from what’s happening to fictional characters, you’re not so worried about your own petty concerns? High school and middle school was a fairly depressing time for me, and I loved this book. Another good thing about this book is that it reminds me of my grandma (she was awesome).

So that’s all the prompts for today! If you decide to do this tag for your birthday, let me know!

The Quick Fire Fantasy Book Tag

I’ve been having fun recently doing book tags, and I recently found the Quick Fire Fantasy Book Tag over at The Bookworm Dreamer and I decided to do it!

Rules:

  • Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their post
  • Link to the creator’s blog (thebookwormdreamer.wordpress.com) in your post
  • Answer the prompts below – all fantasy books!
  • Tag 5 others to take part
  • Enjoy!

5 Star Book

Flame in the Mist Cover

I loved this book! I read it on my breaks (and before/after work) while I was still working at my old job, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it!

After reading this, I just had to pre-order the sequel, Smoke in the Sun. It wasn’t quite as good as the first book, but it was still pretty good! Her new book, The Beautiful, comes out this fall, and although I don’t really care for vampires, I’ve had the opportunity to read a preview and it looks good too.

Always Going to Recommend

An Ember in the Ashes Cover

Another book I loved was An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir! I’m patiently waiting for the fourth and final book in the series to come out, but the first three have been outstanding.

I love how these books (and Flame in the Mist) have such unique settings. There are plenty of amazing fantasy books set in a Renaissance Europe-ish place, but it’s pretty fun to see fantasy settings set somewhere else too.

Own it But Haven’t Read it Yet

Vicious cover

Pretty much every week I visit web sites on Top Ten Tuesday and I say to myself “I really need to read one of V.E. Schwab’s books”. I own multiple books written by her. Despite saying this every week, have I read any of her books? Sadly, the answer is still no.

Someday. Soon (I think). I’ve said that about other authors and eventually started reading their books, so Ms. Schwab’s time will come as well.

Would Read Again

Carve the Mark cover

I hope to read the Carve the Mark duology sometime soon. Ms. Roth is coming out with a new book, The End and Other Beginnings, on October 1st, and it has two short stories from this universe in it. Besides, even though I’ve read the first book from this duology four times (once in Spanish), I’ve only read the sequel, The Fates Divide, once. It was a great book and I’d like to read it again. Sometimes books are better the second time around because you see more.

In Another World

Strange the Dreamer Cover

Strange the Dreamer was set in such a unique world with unique people. Lazlo and Sarai’s relationship was sweet, and it had great villains too.

Muse of Nightmares had some surprises to it, and although I don’t think we’ll see any new books from this series come out (maybe a novella though), this story left the door open for some great fanfiction. I’m not inspired to write any at the moment, but maybe someone else has written some?

Back on Earth

Clockwork Angel cover

The Clockwork series is another trilogy I would like to reread at some point. If they didn’t keep coming out with amazing new books!

At any rate, the Shadowhunter’s books are an excellent example of fantasy books set in the real world. They’re all connected to a specific time period (which I’m sure is a challenge because they have to be somewhat historically accurate as well) and yet, they’re full of magic and otherworldly creatures.

So that’s the Quick Fire Fantasy Book Tag! I have to admit, even though I like doing tags, I never know who to tag (I don’t know who would be interested; I don’t want to leave anybody out, etc.) so I’m just going to say, if you want to do it, then consider yourself tagged! If you decide to do this one, please tag me so I can go see what you came up with.
